Description:

Over the past two decades, the field of Information Systems (IS) has developed to account for the growing relationship between people, ICT technologies, business contexts and societal goals when designing and developing digital solutions. The body of knowledge has evolved to account for the more iterative, incremental and agile paces of real-life IS development, borrowing (and providing) knowledge, context and methodologies from (and to) related fields of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and (User Experience/Service) Design.

This workshop is aimed at researchers and practitioners trying to align design and UX/Service activities within the practice of IS design and development. Or that consistently have been working on the gap found between the disciplines. We expect position papers or brief case/project descriptions from scholars and practitioners that are fully aware of the gap, not as a place to avoid, but as the natural habitat and complex, multidimensional environment of IS projects, in real-life contexts.

The workshop will report on challenges, difficulties, needs and expectations, sharing the common problems and found solutions achieved by participants. Towards a common research agenda and practical guidance. Join us in this journey.
